Explore the movement styles of several different Swing-era dancers who were part of the creation of Lindy Hop and embodied the language of Jazz dance. By trying out the movements of specific dancers we can learn more about Black American movement aesthetics that thread through Jazz-based dances (along with so many other American dance styles) and find out what makes each dancer individual!
In this class we will do a combination of solo movement practice and partnered dancing. Familiarity with swingouts and common 6-count patterns such as side passes and tuck turns is required.
